Where WP Meat Company Came From
This plant has been part of the Enfield community since it opened as Enfield Slaughter Plant in 1979. In 2007 it became Enfield Packing Plant under new ownership. In 2023, Emmy (Pruitt) Williams purchased it and renamed it WP Meat Company — WP for Williams and Pruitt, her married and maiden names.
Emmy and her husband Kyle both grew up on a grain farm. Emmy's father also raised beef and hogs for their friends and family. She began working in the banking industry after graduating high school. After spending a few years working her way up the ladder, she realized how much she missed spending time in the agricultural world. She began raising animals herself, which quickly led to the idea of purchasing the local processing plant.
Emmy didn't just change the name. She changed the vision. WP Meat Company is a true farm-to-table operation. The animals are sourced from local farmers, processed right here at our USDA federal plant, and sold directly to you. That's the whole chain — no middlemen, no mystery, no compromises.
The "Meat Company" in our name is intentional. We're more than a processing plant. We raise animals. We butcher. We sell retail and wholesale. We process for local farmers and ranchers who need a team they can trust. That's what a meat company does.
